Epi-Lasik (Epithelial laser in-situ keratomy)

In this procedure, a specially designed microkeratome is used to create a thin flap of corneal epithelium. Once the epithelial layer is removed, the Excimer Laser is applied. After the laser is applied, the flap is placed back.

Compared with Prk and Lasek, Epi-lasek is a less painful treatment; however, the healing period is relatively longer.
