This procedure is well suited for patients for patients with myopia where laser treatment is not applicable and for patients with mild-moderate keratoconus (a progressive eye disease, which causes a thinning of the cornea). Vision correction with Intacs entails implanting micro-thin intracorneal rings into the cornea by mechanical or femtosecond laser procedures.

Intacs have two types: Keraring and Ferrararing.
