Vitrectomy surgey is an endoscopic microsurgery technique, which is applied to patients with:

- clouded vitreous humor (clear aqueous solution that fills the space between the lens and retina)
- retinal detachments / tears
- retinal decolmans
- macular holes / pucker
- unidentified objects in their eye
- traumas

The surgery is performed by injectors through three micro holes of 1.5 mm in size.
Nowadays, it can be done without any stitches in simple cases. This surgery is preferred especially in patients with severe diabetes in order to help patients save their visions.
